AI Intelligence & Technology Monitoring

Custom Artificial Intelligence Reports

A documented answer to one precise question on artificial intelligence, written for the people who will read it and sourced so that it can be reused internally without further research.

The problem this service answers

A committee meets in six weeks and expects a documented position on artificial intelligence. Your teams have fragments, no time to consolidate them, and no appetite for a hundred-page document nobody will read.

Most internal documents on this subject fail in one of two ways. They are too long, so the decision makers read the first page and take their position elsewhere; or they are too short and unsourced, so anyone who disagrees can dismiss them without argument. A useful report is short at the top and deep underneath, and every claim in it can be traced.

There is also a durability question. A report on artificial intelligence written without dates and sources is unusable six months later, because nobody can tell what has aged. Explicit dating, stated conditions and separation between facts and interpretation are what allow a document to be updated rather than rewritten from scratch.

What the assignment covers

A custom report answers a question you formulate. That question is refined with you first, because a broad request usually contains a narrower decision underneath it, and the narrower version produces a far more useful document. We then agree the perimeter, the sources, the length, the structure and the audience before any research begins.

The research itself follows the same method as our continuous watch: primary sources first, systematic verification, explicit treatment of what could not be established. Where the report includes comparisons, evaluations or figures, the conditions under which they hold are stated in the document rather than in an annex nobody consults.

The writing is done for the reader. A report for a technical committee and a report for a board on the same question are not the same document, and we would rather produce two short ones than a single long one that satisfies neither. A summary of one page, readable on its own, opens every report we deliver.

How we work on it

  1. We refine the question with you until it corresponds to an actual decision.
  2. We agree the perimeter, the audience, the structure and the delivery date in writing.
  3. We conduct the research from primary sources, verifying each element at origin.
  4. We submit an intermediate point when the assignment is long enough to justify it.
  5. We write the report with a standalone summary and full sourcing throughout.
  6. We present the findings to the audience concerned when that is useful.

Where the information comes from

Sources are selected with you at the start of the assignment and reviewed as the subject evolves.

  • Technical documentation, research publications and official registers
  • Regulatory texts, guidance and supervisory publications
  • Corporate and financial filings, tenders and contract records
  • Independent evaluations, published test protocols and reproduction reports
  • Specialised professional press, conference material and expert publications

Possible deliverables

The format is chosen with you. A single assignment can combine several of them.

  • A complete report structured around your question, fully sourced and dated
  • A standalone one-page summary usable without the rest of the document
  • Supporting tables, comparisons or mappings when the subject requires them
  • A presentation of the findings to your committee or team
  • A targeted update of the report at a later date, on request

Who this service is designed for

  • Executive committees and boards
  • Strategy and planning departments
  • Public institutions and regulatory bodies
  • Media organisations preparing substantive coverage
  • Professional federations and sector associations

What this service does not promise

A report documents what can be established at its date, and states what could not be. It does not produce a recommendation dressed as evidence, and we will not adjust a conclusion to match a position that has already been taken internally.

How to start

Send us your question, the audience for the answer and the date it is needed. We come back with a refined question, a proposed structure and a scope for validation.

Questions about this service

How long is a report?

As long as the question requires and no longer. Most are between fifteen and forty pages including sources, opened by a one-page summary. Length is agreed at scoping, and a shorter document with a tighter question is almost always more useful than a broad survey.

Can the report be published under our own name?

Yes. Many clients commission reports for internal use, for a committee, or for publication under their own responsibility. The terms are agreed at scoping, including whether our involvement is mentioned, and the material produced for you is never reused elsewhere.

What if the research contradicts our expectations?

We report what we find. A report that confirms a position because it was expected to has no value in a decision and none at all in front of an auditor or a board. Where evidence is genuinely mixed, we present it as mixed.

Tell us what you need to monitor

Describe your subject, your markets and your decision timeline. We study every request individually before proposing a monitoring set-up.

Every request is reviewed confidentially. No commitment is required to discuss a scope of work.
